EmuGif is back! Here is the new address. Update your bookmarks.
Emu-zone was changing hosts and has now, after a slow start re-upped the EmuGif (and best 
) section of their all encompassing gaming site. It was quite a long ride finding out what the actual issue was (Chinese site) and if the site was coming back at all, but all is well that ends well.
Another thanks goes out to the very helpful and friendly Emu-Zone forum members such as Gun who helped us out with information updates in English.

What used to be the best site for fighting game sprites is now gone! Check the 404
Emugif was hosted by Emu Zone, a Chinese website. As soon as I discovered it was gone, I joined the Emu Zone forum and asked the very kind users what was up. They mostly reckoned it was a technical problem and that it should be back fairly soon…
Well today I tried to log into their forums again… and they have updated the whole forum too. All links to Emugif now totally gone.
This is really depressing as there was really no other site on the net like it. It was so extensive and had very organised gifs for even the most abstract fighter… a very sad day. If someone could let me know what happened of the site or if it is ever going back up… let me know please! I would be very grateful.
Such a sad day.

Yeah… It’s really sad to see this site gone, I hope it’s just a technical problem or site updating result :/ I’ve seen your topic in the Forum there too… The forum was woking from three days ago as I think but it doesn’t work at all the moment! (The time I’ve posted this comment) What’s going on!? T_T

Actually seeing as the forums are down and they have a message on the front page saying that the “old users” database hasn’t been updated yet… there is a slim chance that it might come back.
Also there are a few links on the site that still point to www3.blabla… which was what the old Emugif site was under too.
So maybe in time it’ll be back… wouldn’t bet my paycheck on it though.

Good(ish) news I think… I read on the new emu-zone forum:
“呵呵，你再等几天，自然会恢复” translates to:
“Oh, you have to wait for another few days, will resume”
I think the guy who wrote that is a moderator… so maybe there still is hope.
This links http://emugif.emu-zone.org/ keeps getting thrown about… so maybe that’s where it’ll be hosted when it gets upped again.

I heard one of their servers/sites got Ddos’ed.
The new forums are only temporary.
