I randomly stumbled upon this little shooter (who’s name I think is ‘Gasuto’
by chance whilst browsing the vast depths of the internet.
It didn’t strike me as much when I first saw it, with it’s monochrome, basic looking screen shots. Well how looks decieve.

Well, I’m so glad I stumbled upon this little gem of a program.
What it does is, it assigns keyboard keys to any joypad button.
Whilst this little program is neatly running in your quicklaunch bar, your joypad or joystick will be controlling the keys you set in ‘JoyToKey‘. So in theory you can type words with your joypad etc… you get the idea.
You get to have multiple configurations over multiple input devices. So you can switch back and forth between configurations if you want to stop your controller from using keys.
The best way to configure this program (as is often the case
) in-depth is to alter your values in a text editor.
This program is the only way I’ve managed to get the Xbox 360’s hat switch or d-pad, to work with some games.

A couple of weeks ago, I noticed a few spare notes lying around… which is a bit of a rarity and of course a reason for celebration - and what better way to celebrate having cash, than going out and spending it on a Xbox 360 controller for my PC.
I can pretty much say that I didn’t touch a FPS for almost a week (which is a record, sad as that now sounds). Beat ‘em up’s are playable again… jump and runs are actually an option again and shooters become a 100 times easier. Driving games are much more intuative and I can now lean back in my boss chair instead of having to hunch over my keyboard.
Bliss, again… *sheds a tear of joy*
